The Prefabrication Shop Supervisor is an active member of the Construction Services Management Team whose mission is to own the outcomes of Prefabrication Shop product, personnel and property with the enthusiasm of an entrepreneur – a self-starter who shares the vision of developing and delivering efficient builds for safe installation

  • Own quality of all prefab products built, assembled and constructed within prefabrication facility and on construction site for effective, successful installation.
  • Follow, study and when necessary implement latest industry innovations, trends and new products, thereby leading how we build and what we build in prefab for continued future success.
  • Lead, manage and supervise shop talent, preparing each employee for future career roles in the firm.
  • Beat the man-hour budget on all builds.
  • Make safe work practices the first consideration in all builds, from development in the shop, through safe kitting and delivery to safe installation on construction site.
  • Collaboratively work with members of the Project Team (Plan Detailers, BIM techs, Project Managers, Foreman, etc.) during the pre-construction, planning and construction phases of a project.
  • Make frequent jobsite visits to ensure product quality, accuracy of products, resolve an field conditions fitment issues, and to resolve in any potential conflicts in prefabrication design.
  • Ensure and establish best possible jobsite solution for the safe delivery and shipment of prefabricated products.
  • Management of all electricians and trainees in the prefab shop including safe work practices, job productivity job behavior, coaching and employee development.
  • Reviews the schedule for prefabrication orders and assists in resource leveling (right-sizing crew); Monitors the manpower assigned to each order and takes action to correct discrepancies that may keep Prefabrication Supervisor from beating man-hour budget.
  • Learn, adopt and implement Lean Construction practices.
  • Communicates regularly and meets weekly with Construction Services Manager to discuss business unit objectives and progress toward key results (OKRs).
  • Responsible for providing pictures of products and project stories to marketing
  • Keep yourself and your work area neat and clean.
  • Perform any other work-related duties, which are requested by your supervisor, project managers, field leaders or customers.

 

  • Former GF/F/Field Supervisor/Superintendent with 8 plus years of Electrical Experience, Journeyman or Master’s License preferred.
  • Broad knowledge of the electrical construction trade is preferred; commercial, industrial, traffic signals, and solar.
  • Knowledge of the National Electric Code (NEC).
  • Ability to read, interpret and understand Construction drawing sets and specifications.
  • Lean Manufacturing experiences a plus.
  • Experience in and a working understanding of the prefab operation is a plus.
