An integral part of the Construction Services Team, the BIM Manager leads a team of modelers to deliver comprehensive BIM-design packages for fabrication and construction that result in measurable cost savings on each project.

Additional Job Duties:
As a leader and productive manager of the Design Team, the Design Manager is expected to
- Expend 80% of his/her time contributing to the designs of billable projects.
- Review and analyze specifications and constructability to accurately incorporate into design model for construction and fabrication.
- Work with project team, client and trade partners to define project objectives and conditions of satisfaction.
- Utilize BIM modeling to develop plans, details, elevations, and sections, to accurately convey construction and fabrication requirements to A-C project team.
- Lead the VDC-BIM team, determining project load for each member and assigning projects based on greatest return on investment. (Choose the right modeler for the job.)
- Develop and communicate lean processes to deliver effective and efficient projects for construction and fabrication.
- Determine and track metrics on how VDC-BIM team is saving money (resources) on every job they touch.
- Work with the Design Manager to develop and train VDC employees; designers, drafters and modelers.
- Coach VDC-BIM staff and assist in the development of integration and development plans.
- Work with Preconstruction Project Managers and Design Manager to accurately forecast VDC-BIM Manpower on projects weekly.
- Continually create, improve upon and communicate BIM modeling processes.
- Remain current on electrical codes and standards and related design software applications for the best use of our time and money.
- Evaluate and research new BIM related software and technologies, while seeking out new training opportunities and moving team forward into implementing Revit MEP as a standard for modeling.
- Lead the recruitment and development process for VDC-BIM staff including but not limited to screening, interviewing and employee onboarding.

Requirements:
- Electrical experience
- Working knowledge of basic calculations
- Knowledge of NEC, IEEE, NFPA
- AutoCAD 2D/3D
- Navisworks
- Revit
- General understanding of electrical, instrumentation, and controls systems
- Able to work under and meet tight deadlines.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills.
Pay Range: $65,000 – $165,000. Pay may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this job may also include other elements depending on the position offered.
